The Wikitude uses the G1’s digital compass, GPS and location-based Wikipedia content to overlay information on the live camera feed to create an AR Travel Guide.

nru from Lastminute.com Labs (doesn’t roll off the tongue as smoothly as Google Labs, does it?) also makes the most of G1 features to provide a slick local consumer guide.

Don’t know if they are aware of GeoVector’s patents, e.g. see this one on “Pointing systems for addressing objects”. The Ellenby brothers behind this company have been filing patents in the US in this space since 1997. They have a few international patents but none in Europe, which I suspect would be a lot harder to get.
