SixthSense is a personal ‘Minority Report’ devices in development at MIT by Pranav Mistry at Pattie Maes lab at MIT. This prototype system has been cobbled together using off-the-shelf devices costing about $350.

A personal projector augments the world by projecting information and interfaces onto any surfaces. A video camera watches your gestures and enables you to interact with the augmented digital world. There is much longer TED talk on SixthSense by Pattie Maes with more background and potential uses of this technology.
