Like the Wii Motion Plus controller, the PlayStation 3’s Move controller contains a three axis gyroscope and a three axis accelerometer. In additions it also contains a terrestrial magnetic field sensor and can be visually tracked by the PlayStation Eye.

Being Bluetooth, it might be possible to develop bespoke software on PC much like the fun Johnny Lee has had with the Wii Remote.
