Disturbingly organic shape-shifting robot from iRobot’s (of Roomba robotic vacuum fame) contract for DARPA’s ChemBot project to “create a new class of soft, flexible, mesoscale mobile objects that can identify and maneuver through openings smaller than their dimensions and perform various tasks”. Unveiled at this year’s International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems.
